TRANSLATION SERVICES
Persian sworn translator in Turkey
Asuman Aksoy is a Persian sworn translator based in Fethiye, Muğla. She prepares written translations both ways: Persian/Dari, Pashto and English, each with Turkish. Dari documents are translated to and from Turkish as well, including an Afghan tazkira, a passport, a diploma and a marriage certificate. In English the language is called Persian or Farsi. In Türkiye it is Farsça. Clients anywhere in Türkiye can send a request online, by WhatsApp. You do not have to come to Fethiye for the written translation. A sworn translation, a notary’s approval and an apostille are three different marks. Iran does not issue a Hague apostille. Only the office that will receive the document can say which mark it wants. Pashto is a different pair with Turkish and has its own page. The longer note on those languages, and on which country can issue an apostille, is in the guide linked below.

WHO THIS IS FOR
Iranian documents that a Turkish office has to read.
The wording on the document chooses the pair. The country on the passport does not. Not every document from Iran is in Persian.
A file for a Turkish office
A shenasnameh, a kart-e melli, a passport, a marriage or divorce record, a diploma, a driving licence, or a court or police paper is often in Persian. If the office wants Turkish, the pair is Persian–Turkish. Name the leaves that office will actually use. Translating only the photo page leaves the rest unread.
Turkish prepared in Persian
The pair runs both ways. A Turkish population extract, a diploma or a court document can be prepared in Persian when the reader needs Persian. The direction follows that reader, not a habit of translating everything into Turkish.
Dari, Pashto and English
The pairs run both ways: Persian/Dari, Pashto and English, each with Turkish. Dari documents are translated to and from Turkish as well, including an Afghan tazkira, a passport, a diploma and a marriage certificate. Pashto, called Peştuca in Turkish, is not Persian or Dari and has its own page.
Clients anywhere in Türkiye
The translator is based in Fethiye, Muğla, and takes written work online from every province. You do not have to come to Fethiye. This page does not publish a street address. If a notary must see the signature, the appointment can be in Fethiye or with another notary you agree.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
Iranian documents for use in Türkiye.
These are the documents clients most often have translated into Turkish. The first message describes the document. It does not attach the scan. Say which of them the receiving office named. That office’s list is the one that counts.
- Shenasnameh, the Iranian civil booklet: identity, birth record, marriage, children and any marginal note that office named
- Kart-e melli, when a desk has asked for a Turkish text rather than the card itself
- Passport, only the pages that office asked to have translated
- Marriage record or divorce judgment
- Diploma and transcript, and a course description only if that office named it
- Driving licence, when a desk has asked for a Turkish text rather than the card
- Court judgment, or a police or criminal-record certificate, with the date it was issued
- Stamps, handwritten notes and the reverse of the page, when that office will use them
- The spelling of the name on the passport you will show beside the translation
- Issuing country, usually Iran, named separately from the language
What to send first: document type, languages, issuing country, receiving office, approximate length, and whether a notary or a legalisation is already known. Leave out the passport number, the national ID number and the full scan. A way to send a copy is agreed afterwards. Send it by WhatsApp to +90 553 000 59 00.
A THOUGHTFUL PROCESS
First the description, then the mark.
Treating a Pashto page as Persian or Dari, or binding the Turkish text before a stamp the original still needs, is how the same file is done twice.
Send the description online
WhatsApp is enough, from Fethiye or from any other province. Name the document, the languages, the issuing country and the approximate length. Do not attach the scan, a passport number or a national ID number in that first note.
Name the receiving office
A migration directorate, a population office, a university, a marriage desk and a court do not ask for the same text. If you have that office’s sentence, quote it. Residence-permit files and university files are different procedures.
Prepare the sworn text
The sworn translation is the translator’s signed rendering, under the oath given before a Turkish notary. It is the language work. It is not the notary’s act and it is not an apostille.
Notary, only if required
A notarized translation is the notary’s later act, usually on the translator’s signature. It is not added to every file. The notary’s fee follows that notary’s tariff and is discussed separately. It is not stated on this page.
Apostille is a different mark
Iran does not issue a Hague apostille. If the Turkish office wants a stamp on the original, that stamp is legalisation, not an apostille. Confirm the route before the Turkish text is bound to the document. The consular steps for Iran and Afghanistan are in the legalisation guide linked below, not repeated here.
You file the set they asked for
Acceptance is the receiving office’s decision. TürkiyeRota does not issue permits, apostilles or notarial acts, and it does not control those queues.
THREE DIFFERENT MARKS
Sworn, notarized, apostille.
They can sit in one folder and still do three different jobs. Ordering one does not produce the other two. For a document from Iran, the third mark is legalisation, not an apostille.
Sworn translation
Prepared and signed by a translator who has sworn an oath before a Turkish notary. The signature belongs to the translator. It says the text is her rendering of the document she was given. If the office asked only for that, the notary step is not opened.
Notarized translation
A later act by a notary, usually on the translator’s signature, not a second translation of the Persian. e-İkamet lists often ask for a notarized Turkish translation. Read the line on your own screen before assuming the oath alone will do. Notary fees are not quoted here.
Apostille
A certificate, under the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961, that the signature, the seal and the capacity of the signer on a public document are genuine. It does not translate the document and it does not say the translation is accurate. Türkiye has been a party since 29 September 1985. Inside Türkiye, administrative documents go through the governor or the kaymakamlık; judicial documents go to the judicial commission. The fee is the one that office, or the e-Apostille screen, shows on the day. Iran is not in this system.
Iran does not appear on the HCCH status table as updated on 30 June 2026, and it does not issue a Hague apostille. A document from a country that is not a party cannot be apostilled under the convention. Which countries are parties, and how an e-İkamet list splits an apostille from legalisation, is set out in the Persian, Dari and Pashto guide linked below. Read the row for the issuing country on the day you file, because accessions change.
WHERE IT IS USED
The office chooses the set.
The same Persian page can be asked for in different shapes. Match the marks to the office. Residence permits and university admission are separate pages on this site.
Residence permits
A migration file often wants a foreign civil record as a notarized Turkish translation, and legalisation on an Iranian original rather than an apostille. The directorate decides the application. A translated page is not a permit. The residence permit page is where the permit itself is discussed.
Education and diplomas
University admission and degree equivalence publish different lists. Many ask for a sworn or notarized translation of the diploma and the transcript. Translate after that year’s list names the version. Comparing programmes is the education page. Equivalence steps for an Iranian diploma are in the legalisation guide, not repeated here.
Marriage, divorce and population
A population directorate or a marriage office reads civil status from the original and from the Turkish text it asked for. A marriage record and a divorce judgment are different pages. Say which one that office named.
Court, police and licence papers
A court judgment or a police or criminal-record certificate is translated when that desk asked, with the date of issue kept visible. A driving licence is translated when a desk asked for a Turkish text. The translation does not replace the judgment, the record or the licence.
COMMON MISTAKES
How a Persian file gets translated twice.
The wording can be careful and the file can still come back, if the language or the stamp was the wrong one.
Sending Pashto as Persian or Dari
Pashto is a different pair with Turkish. A Persian or Dari translation does not cover those lines. Peştuca, and the market name Afganca, belong on the Pashto page.
Asking Iran for an apostille
Iran does not issue one. A courier trip spent looking for a Hague certificate there does not produce it. The stamp, when the Turkish office wants one, is legalisation: the issuing country’s own chain, then consular or ministry certification.
Treating the three marks as one product
A sworn translation, a notarized translation and an apostille or legalisation are not a bundle. Name the mark the office used. If it has not said, say that, and we start from the missing sentence rather than from a guess.
Sending the scan in the first message
A passport number, an identity number or a full shenasnameh in the first WhatsApp message is more than a quotation needs. Describe the document. Share a copy only by a method agreed afterwards.
PRACTICAL TIPS
A cleaner first message.
A short note that names the language and the office is more useful than a photograph of a whole folder.
- Say Persian, Dari or Pashto before you say the nationality. A mixed document needs each language named.
- Quote the office if you can: sworn, notarized Turkish, apostille, consular legalisation, or a line from an e-İkamet note.
- Count annexes and stamped leaves. A one-page certificate with four attachments is not a one-page job.
- If the Persian spelling, the passport’s Latin spelling and an older diploma already differ, say so before anyone signs. The translation follows the original it was given.
- Keep the original available. Some notaries and some receiving offices want to see it, not only a scan.
- For a Fethiye notary appointment, say the day you can attend. The translation and the notary’s hour are different calendars.
TIMING
A window, not a fixed day.
A short, readable Persian page is a different plan from a diploma plus a transcript, or from a file that still needs a notary appointment. After you describe the type, the length, the direction and whether a notary step is already known, we agree a workable window for the translation itself. That window is a plan, not a promise. It does not include the notary’s hours in Fethiye, another notary’s calendar, or the queue for legalisation. No fee and no number of days is stated on this page. A date you hope for is not a completion guarantee.
